Herbert Bendy III, a 47-year-old African American man from Beaumont, Texas, tragically passed away on July 4, 2021. He was involved in an ongoing disturbance with Bryant Keith Thomas, a 36-year-old Beaumont man, at the Excellent Car Wash in the 5000 block of Haden. The altercation escalated, and Thomas shot Bendy multiple times, leading to his death at the scene. Witnesses reported that Bendy was shot at least five times and was found behind his SUV.
