Daylen Brown, a 3-year-old Black boy, was found unresponsive on December 8, 2015, after police were called to a home on the 3500 block of Illinois Avenue in St. Louis. Officers arrived to a scene that already felt like it had slipped past the point of saving—Daylen was in cardiac arrest, and the scramble that followed became a race against time as paramedics rushed him to the hospital.
