John Wolford Flanagan, a 33-year-old Black male from Orange, Texas, tragically died on October 7, 2021, from a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred at the James Zay Roberts Plaza apartments on Burton Avenue, where police responded to reports of a wounded man just after 11 p.m. Flanagan was found suffering from the gunshot wound and was quickly transported by Acadian Ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
