On October 27, 2021, 19-year-old Daniel Mathis from Dallas, Texas, was tragically shot multiple times in the 2000 block of Cantura Drive in Mesquite, Texas. He was found on the ground by police officers who responded to a shooting call at around 10:51 p.m. Despite being rushed to a local hospital in serious condition, Mathis succumbed to his injuries later that night.
