Edward Mays, a 33-year-old man from Stamford, Texas, was tragically shot and killed on January 1, 2022, at the Carriage House Inn and Suites in Lubbock, Texas. Edward, who went by the last name Mays despite a misspelling on his birth certificate, was a father of five and was trying to rebuild his life and reconnect with his children. According to his family, Edward was a kind and loving person who was working hard to improve himself and provide for his family.
