Layla Marie Salazar, an 11-year-old girl of Hispanic ethnicity from Uvalde, Texas, tragically lost her life on May 24, 2022. Layla was a vibrant and energetic child who loved dancing, singing, and spending time with her family. She was excited about starting middle school and had dreams of joining the track team. On that fateful day, Layla was one of the 19 students and two teachers killed in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.
