Glen Patrick Klima, a 54-year-old man from Port Arthur, Texas, tragically passed away on June 26, 2022. Glen was born on November 27, 1967, and lived his entire life in the Port Arthur/Groves area. He was known for his artistic abilities in paint and bodywork, especially custom painting on cars and motorcycles. Glen is survived by his sons Colby Jack Klima, Kyler Dakota Klima, and Conner Jude Klima, and their mother, Shelly Porter-Klima, as well as his siblings and numerous nieces and
nephews.
The circumstances surrounding Glen's death were initially unclear, but it was later revealed that he was the victim of a shooting at a home in the 2800 block of 59th Street in Port Acres, Texas, just before 2 a.m. on the morning of June 26, 2022. The Port Arthur Police Department identified Glen as the victim and launched an investigation into the incident. According to PAPD Chief Tim Duriso, the shooting suspect remained at the scene, but no charges were filed immediately. The investigation is ongoing, and the case has been referred to the District Attorney’s office for review.
Detectives have indicated that the shooting appears to have been accidental, and Glen was likely not the intended target. The investigation revealed that the person who fired the weapon knew Glen, but the exact circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the case continues to be actively investigated by the Port Arthur Police Department.
Glen's death has deeply affected his family and the community, and a memorial service was held on July 30, 2022, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. The community continues to mourn the loss of Glen Patrick Klima, a beloved artist and family man.
