Marisela Castro, a 39-year-old transgender woman, was tragically killed in Houston, Texas, on July 29, 2022. She was shot in the back while walking down Centerwood Street in the Northshore neighborhood. Castro was in a car with two other people when the shooting occurred. The car was later found abandoned at a nearby jogging trail.
