They waited for Devin and Omar to arrive at the apartment entrance, and as the victims pulled in, one of the suspects exited the vehicle and opened fire, hitting both Devin and Omar multiple times. Despite being rushed to the hospital, both victims succumbed to their injuries.
The suspects attempted to flee the scene but damaged the vehicle's front wheel and tire while trying to escape, forcing them to abandon the car at a nearby gas station. Surveillance footage from the gas station helped police identify the suspects. Curtis Ray Wilson and Aiden Cantu were arrested and charged with capital murder, while an unidentified minor was also taken into custody.
