Sofia Vera, a 19-year-old woman from Elgin, Texas, tragically passed away on December 30, 2022. She was found shot to death in Bastrop County, and her death was initially thought to be a hit-and-run incident. However, it was later determined to be a murder. The investigation revealed that Sofia had been shot four times, including once in the head.
Authorities identified Sofia's boyfriend, Raul Anthony Caballero, 22, as the primary suspect. Caballero was arrested following a high-speed chase that ended in Navasota, Texas.
