In the summer of 2014, a domestic disturbance in a Memphis, Tennessee, home escalated into a tragedy that claimed the lives of a father and two of his children. On August 15, 24-year-old Gustavo Gomez was fatally shot by his father, Abel Gomez. The violent encounter also resulted in the death of Gustavo's younger sister, Lupita, who was five or six years old and used a wheelchair.
