Gary Allen Cheatham Jr., a 28-year-old man from Horn Lake, Mississippi, tragically died on April 26, 2021, in Memphis, Tennessee. The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Village Wood Drive. Cheatham was shot in the chest when his friend, Deuntavious Smith, handed him an AR-15 style rifle, which accidentally discharged.
