In the autumn of 2015, the life of 18-year-old Justin Revis was tragically cut short in Clarksville, Tennessee. On the evening of October 20th, Revis was at a BP gas station on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard with a friend when they were approached by three teenagers with the intent to rob them. During the encounter, one of the assailants shot Revis in the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was assaulted but survived with non-life-threatening injuries. The robbers took a necklace before fleeing the scene.
Following the shooting, Clarksville police quickly launched an investigation. Their efforts led them to a nearby home where the suspects were located. The department's TACT Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were activated, and the area was secured. As a result of the investigation, three male juveniles were taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide. The suspects were identified as 16-year-olds Dylan Felts, Navoj Dixon, and Jaynarie Jenkins. A decision was later made to charge all three as adults.
In March of 2016, the Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted the three teenagers for their involvement in the fatal shooting. The indictment accused Jenkins of being the one who shot Revis with a handgun during the course of an aggravated robbery. Felts and Dixon were accused of aiding Jenkins in the commission of the felony, specifically in the violent theft of a gold necklace from the second victim, which ultimately led to Revis's death. Jenkins later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. He received a 25-year prison sentence for the murder and an additional 15 years for the robbery. Felts and Dixon both pleaded guilty to especially aggravated robbery and were each sentenced to 15 years in prison.
