In December of 2015, the body of 29-year-old Charles Kerr, a male from Frayser, Tennessee, was discovered in a field in the Arlington area. Authorities with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office publicly identified him the day after his discovery.
The unfortunate finding was made by a group of mourners who were attending a funeral service in a nearby cemetery. They stumbled upon Kerr's body and immediately alerted law enforcement.
Upon their arrival, investigators found that Kerr had no personal identification on him.
An examination by the medical examiner's office would later reveal a grim reality; Charles Kerr had been shot multiple times. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office initiated a homicide investigation into his death. At the time of the initial reports, authorities had not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death was reported to be ongoing.
