In the autumn of 2016, the life of Telessa Lisa Cain, a 53-year-old Black/African American woman, was tragically cut short in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. On the evening of October 11th or 12th, while driving through the Orange Mound neighborhood, she was struck by gunfire. The fatal shooting left her family and the community in mourning.
In the wake of the homicide, local law enforcement launched an extensive investigation to piece together the events that led to her death and to
identify the individual or individuals responsible. Detectives worked the case diligently, seeking evidence and pursuing any potential leads that emerged. However, despite their determined efforts, the investigation has not yet led to an arrest in connection with her murder.
Years have passed since Telessa Lisa Cain was killed, and her case remains unsolved. For her loved ones, the pain of her loss is compounded by the absence of justice. The community continues to hope for a breakthrough that will bring closure to a case that has left a lasting scar on the city of Memphis. The search for answers and for the person or persons who ended her life continues.
