Tevin Savage, a 22-year-old Black man, was killed on November 12, 2016, after an ordinary drive along Highway 385 in southeast Shelby County turned into something sudden and irreversible. That Saturday morning, Savage was traveling eastbound near the stretch between the Houston Levee Road and Forest Hill Irene exits, with his girlfriend in the vehicle, when what authorities described as a road-rage encounter began to form around them.
