In the early hours of a Sunday morning in March 2018, the life of 31-year-old Derrick William Jones was tragically cut short in Knoxville, Tennessee. The male victim was at the Queens R Kings Club on Magnolia Avenue when he sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Police were called to the East Knoxville nightclub, where they discovered Jones lying on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led authorities to a person of interest.
By Sunday night, an arrest was made in connection with the death of Derrick Jones. Tyshawn Weaver, 24, also of Knoxville, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. Following his arrest, Weaver was held at the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond.
