In the autumn of 2018, the life of JayShawn Taylor, a 16-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. A junior at Mount Juliet High School, he was known for his love of football. On November 15, 2018, just two weeks shy of his seventeenth birthday, JayShawn was fatally shot at a gathering with three other teenagers at the home of 15-year-old Ethen Vanderpool.
