In the Hickory Hill neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 38-year-old Cortez D. Jones was tragically cut short on January 13, 2019. In a brazen act of violence, his home was riddled with nearly 100 bullets. Despite being wounded in the assault, Jones's immediate concern was for the safety of his family members who were also in the house: his sister, his mother, his 2-year-old nephew, and his 15-year-old niece.
