In the summer of 2019, the life of Jason Walton Glass, a 35-year-old White/Caucasian male from Summertown, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. On July 12, 2019, in Woodbury, Tennessee, a fatal encounter unfolded that would leave a family grieving and a community in search of answers. Glass, a diesel mechanic by trade, found himself at a residence on Sunny Slope Drive where an altercation with an acquaintance, 36-year-old John Daniel McPeak, escalated to a point of no return. During the dispute, McPeak fatally shot Glass, ending his life.
The investigation into the shooting was handled by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Their findings pointed to John Daniel McPeak as the individual responsible for Glass's death. The case then moved to the legal system for resolution.
In January 2020, the Cannon County Grand Jury handed down a significant indictment against McPeak, charging him with a litany of serious offenses. These charges included first-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, theft of property, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and employing a firearm with intent to go armed. Following the indictment, John Daniel McPeak was arrested and taken into custody to face the legal consequences of his alleged actions on that fateful July day.
