In the winter of 2021, the life of a young Nashville woman was tragically cut short in a sequence of events that left a family grieving and a community searching for answers. Holly Vantrease, a 27-year-old female, was fatally shot on a Tuesday night in January. The preliminary investigation by Metro Nashville Police pointed to Vantrease being in the passenger seat of a car when she was shot.
