Janaria Muhammad, a 15-year-old African American girl from Knoxville, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on February 16, 2021. She was a freshman at Austin-East High School and was known for her vibrant personality and active involvement in her community. Janaria was shot twice in a drive-by shooting outside her East Knoxville home as she was heading home from school. Despite efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the UT Medical Center.
