On February 24, 2021, Samuel Lamont Smith-Williams, a 38-year-old man, was shot and killed in the parking lot of Resha's Bi-Rite Market on 25th Avenue North in Nashville, Tennessee. Smith-Williams was talking with an acquaintance when at least two suspects, described as young black men, fired shots from an alley behind the market. Smith-Williams was hit in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
Metro Nashville Police Department responded to the incident and launched an investigation.
