On January 26, 2016, James Lytle, aged 53, was found dead from stab wounds in South Nashville, Tennessee. The discovery was made after a driver noticed Lytle's body on the side of the road and called the authorities. Lytle had been fatally stabbed in the neck, and despite the efforts of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the case went unsolved and eventually became classified as a cold case.
