Desheena LaCole Kyle, a 26-year-old African American woman from Knoxville, TN, tragically died on June 19, 2021. She was reported missing by her family in June 2021, and her body was discovered in an abandoned home on Sam Tillery Road in September 2021. Desheena's ex-boyfriend, John Bassett, was identified as a person of interest and later arrested on drug and weapons charges. Investigators found evidence linking Bassett to her death, and he was indicted in October 2021.
