In the small town of Somerville, Tennessee, the life of 35-year-old Lacord Anderson was cut short by gunfire on November 10, 2021. The fatal shooting occurred in the 300 block of West Market Street, prompting a joint investigation by local and state law enforcement agencies.
Authorities, including special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Somerville Police Department, and the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, worked together to piece together the events of that day.
Through their investigation, they identified Michael Hobson as the individual allegedly responsible for Anderson's death.
In a significant development, a Fayette County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Hobson with one count of first-degree murder. At the time of the indictment, Hobson was already incarcerated at the Hardeman County Jail on charges related to a separate 2015 homicide. A substantial bond was set for the charge connected to Lacord Anderson's death. Further investigation revealed that Hobson was also allegedly a member of the Traveling Vice Lord/Junk Yard Dog gang and faced a superseding federal indictment for murder in aid of racketeering connected to the 2015 death.
