On a tragic afternoon in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of Tiffany Marie Hunt-Jones, a 42-year-old Caucasian female, was cut short. On August 22, 2022, she was found lying on the ground next to a small SUV in the Edge District, having sustained a gunshot wound to the back. Emergency services transported her to a nearby hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
At the time of the incident, Hunt-Jones was visiting with residents of an apartment in the 600 block of
Madison Avenue. Witnesses in the area reported hearing several loud popping sounds before observing a man fleeing the scene. They then saw Hunt-Jones stumble towards her vehicle. The man seen running from the area was identified as Robert Guyse, who was known to be a frequent visitor to Hunt-Jones's apartment.
Following the shooting, an investigation was launched by the Memphis Police Department. Investigators were able to track down the suspect, Robert Guyse, who was 39 years old at the time. He was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Tiffany Hunt-Jones. Guyse was booked into the Shelby County jail with his bond set at $120,000. The case is now subject to ongoing legal proceedings.
