Ellen Barbara Lewis, a 20-year-old African American female, tragically lost her life on December 17, 1983, in Cheyney, Pennsylvania. She was a student at Cheyney State University, attending a crowded dormitory party when she was shot once in the head at very close range. The party was filled with students dancing to loud music and strobe lights, and there were no eyewitnesses to the shooting.
