In the early hours of the Fourth of July in 2013, a life was tragically cut short in a Minneapolis apartment building. Muhyadin Mohamud Farah, a 26-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in what police would later describe as a non-random act of violence. The incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. inside a residence on the 3000 block of Grand Avenue South, a typically quiet neighborhood disrupted by the sudden echo of gunfire.
