Robel Laboy, an 18-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity from Chester, PA, tragically lost his life on April 4, 2011. He was one of two victims fatally shot during a birthday party at Minaret Temple No. 174 in Chester. The incident occurred when Kanei Avery, a 16-year-old at the time, opened fire at the crowded event, resulting in the deaths of Laboy and another teenager, David Johnson, aged 17. Seven other teens were injured in the shooting.
