Tamir Ricks, a 31-year-old African American male from Chester, PA, was tragically gunned down on May 1, 2013, in the 1000 block of Beverly Lane. Shot multiple times, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe that Ricks, who was studying criminal justice at Delaware County Community College and was the father of two young children, was shot during a robbery.
In the aftermath of his death, a $2,500 reward was initially offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction
of those responsible. This amount was later increased to $3,500 by Ricks' family and friends, who hoped that someone would come forward with the crucial information needed to solve the case. Despite these efforts, the person or persons responsible for Ricks' murder remain at large.
The investigation into Tamir Ricks' murder has been ongoing, with Chester Police Detective Randy Bothwell and Delaware County Detective Robert Fuss leading the case. The community and Ricks' loved ones continue to seek justice, hoping that new information will eventually lead to an arrest.
