Edward Joseph White, a 78-year-old man from Montoursville, PA, tragically died on April 5, 2014. Initially, it was believed that he had been struck by a hit-and-run driver, but further investigation revealed a more sinister cause of death. White was found shot in the head and hip, and his body was discovered near Fairview Drive and Cherry Street. surveillance footage showed White with Jacqueline DelGuerico, a 28-year-old woman, on the night of his death. DelGuerico was later identified as a suspect in White's murder. According to police, White and DelGuerico were seen arguing in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart before leaving together in DelGuerico's car. Pieces of broken glass were found near where White's body was discovered, and DelGuerico was seen returning to the store shortly after White was pronounced dead.
DelGuerico, who referred to White as "his girlfriend" in a phone conversation with White's nephew, was believed to have shot White inside her car. However, before she could be arrested, DelGuerico committed suicide while being chased by police. State Trooper Tyson Havens, the lead investigator, stated that there was probable cause to believe DelGuerico was responsible for White's death.
The case was complex, involving multiple pieces of evidence and witness testimonies. Despite the tragic outcome, the investigation provided closure for White's family and highlighted the importance of thorough police work in solving such cases.
