In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Carroll Township, Pennsylvania, a tragic event unfolded that cut short the life of Thad Garrett Gayman. The 23-year-old male was fatally shot on May 17, 2015, in a violent encounter that left a community in shock. The incident, which took place at a residence on Pisgah State Road, was determined by authorities to be a murder-suicide.
The investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police revealed that Michael Lloyd Deimler, 25, of Enola, was the
perpetrator. At approximately 5:05 a.m., Deimler shot Gayman and a 23-year-old woman, Taylor Ann Jacobs-Deimler. After shooting them, Deimler then turned the firearm on himself, dying at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported Thad Gayman to Hershey Medical Center, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Taylor Ann Jacobs-Deimler was also taken to the same hospital and was listed in critical condition following the shooting. As the individual responsible for Gayman's death died at the scene, no arrests were made in connection with the case. The investigation concluded that Deimler acted alone, and authorities did not search for any other suspects. The community was left to mourn the loss of a young man remembered for his kindness and positive impact on those around him.
