Sherry Stewart Brown, aged 33, was reported missing on August 9, 1996, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her remains were discovered on July 22, 1998, in a ditch near Butterworth Drive SW and Maynard Avenue in Walker, a nearby city. The discovery was made by a motorist who initially noticed dogs playing with what turned out to be bones.
