In a tragic event that unfolded in the Moxham neighborhood of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, 27-year-old Eric L. Klein lost his life in a violent domestic dispute. On the evening of Friday, June 24, 2016, authorities were called to a residence where they discovered a grim scene. The incident, which was later ruled a double murder-suicide, also claimed the lives of Eric's parents.

Eric Klein was found with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen. He was immediately rushed to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away early the next morning, on Saturday, June 25, 2016. His mother, 48-year-old Suzanne Klein, was found deceased at the scene, having suffered shotgun wounds to her head, neck, and chest.

The investigation determined that the perpetrator was Eric's father, 51-year-old Robert Klein. After shooting his wife and son, Robert Klein then turned the weapon on himself, dying from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. It was later revealed that Suzanne Klein had previously sought and obtained a protection-from-abuse order against her husband, indicating a history of domestic turmoil. The case was closed following the determination of the events as a murder-suicide, with Robert Klein identified as the sole suspect.
