On December 15, 2012, Montreal Blakely, a 17-year-old high school senior, was shot and killed in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco. Blakely was standing with friends on Osceola Lane around 10 p.m. when an unidentified assailant opened fire, shooting him in the head. Blakely was rushed to a nearby hospital by a friend, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
