In the winter of 2017, a burst of violence on a Philadelphia street claimed the life of 29-year-old Adoubacar Gouba. On the afternoon of January 15th, Gouba, a male of African descent, was found on the 5700 block of Spruce Street, suffering from devastating gunshot wounds to his face and chest. The actual shooting, however, had taken place nearby, in the 400 block of North Salford Street.
Emergency medical services rushed Gouba to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be too severe. Shortly after his arrival at the hospital, he was pronounced dead.
In the years that have followed, the search for those responsible for Adoubacar Gouba's death has continued. Despite the passage of time, online sources and public records do not indicate that any arrests have been made in connection with the homicide. The case appears to remain unsolved, with no suspects publicly identified. The investigation into who fired the fatal shots on that January afternoon is presumably still open, leaving a painful void for those who knew him.
