On February 24, 2017, 57-year-old Virginia Cruttenden was discovered deceased in her Port Richmond residence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was found lying unresponsive on the living room floor by her son, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The home, located on the 3200 block of Mercer Street, appeared to have been ransacked, with several items, including various electronics, reported missing. Authorities quickly suspected robbery as the motive behind the crime.
