On June 2, 2017, 16-year-old Zion Abdullah, a sophomore at Chester High School and a football player, was fatally shot on his way to school in Chester, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near 11th and Kerlin streets. Abdullah, described as a "good kid" with no history of trouble with the law, was involved in an altercation before being shot by an armed man or men.
