In the quiet borough of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragedy that ended the life of 47-year-old Kathleen Susannah Lange. On the morning of Sunday, October 22, 2017, a verbal altercation between Kathleen and her husband, David W. Lange, turned violent. The argument culminated in David Lange shooting his wife. Kathleen was rushed to Meritus Hospital in Maryland, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation into Kathleen's death led to
the arrest of her 49-year-old husband, David Lange. He was subsequently charged with homicide. Following his arraignment, he was denied bail and detained while police continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
Kathleen, a mother of two, was remembered as an affectionate, bright, and giving person with amazing fortitude. She had been employed as a Permit Tech for the Washington County Permit Department. Her interests included listening to music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, caring for her plants, and a fondness for scary movies and Halloween. She was also a naturalist with a talent for photography. Her unexpected death left her family, including her two children, David W. Lange, II and Victoria S. Lange, and the Greencastle community in mourning.
