Siani Overby, a 23-year-old woman from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, tragically lost her life on April 1, 2018. She was the life of the party and was remembered fondly by her family and friends. On Easter Sunday, just before 2 a.m., police responded to a call of a woman screaming and gunfire on the 300 block of Johnson Street. When they arrived, they found Overby dead on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. A man was seen running away from the scene, but no exact description of the shooter was available at the time.
The investigation revealed that Overby was seeking a paternity test and child support from Bobbie Mitchell Jr., 36, who was identified as the father of her 18-month-old son. Text messages between Mitchell and Overby were found on a cellphone next to Overby's body, and video surveillance showed Mitchell chasing Overby and her screaming and pleading for her life during gunfire. An arrest warrant was issued for Mitchell, who was considered armed and dangerous. Mitchell was later found and arrested in Waterbury, Connecticut, by the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force and the Waterbury Police Department.
