Walter Smith, a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot on January 1, 2013, in San Francisco's Bayview District. The incident occurred in the early hours of New Year's Day, and Smith was found with a stab wound to the neck. Despite the efforts of first responders, Smith succumbed to his injuries shortly after being discovered. Authorities arrested a suspect, a 37-year-old man from Alameda, shortly after the incident.
