On February 25, 2020, 15-year-old Devon Pfirsching was tragically killed in an Altoona, PA alley. Devon, a Caucasian male, was lured to the location by a group of teenagers under the pretense of buying marijuana. Once there, he was robbed and shot by the group. The suspects, all of whom were also teenagers, were Owen Southerland, 17, Omedro Davis Jr., 18, and Logan Persing, 18.
The investigation revealed that Owen Southerland was holding the gun that discharged and killed Devon.
Southerland was later sentenced to 35 years to life in prison. Omedro Davis Jr. and Logan Persing both pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and robbery-related charges. Davis Jr. received a sentence of 10 to 20 years, while Persing was sentenced to 17 to 34 years. Damien Green, 17, was also implicated in the crime and faced charges related to Devon's death.
