In the evening hours of Thursday, October 29, 2020, a Philadelphia man, Amir Boston, was found shot in a rear driveway on the 5300 block of Irving Street. The 33-year-old Black male had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his leg and torso. Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:25 p.m. and quickly transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Boston succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that evening.
Family members remember Amir Boston as a man who was loved by many and deeply missed. They described him as a good father, brother, nephew, son, and uncle who loved life and his family. He was a resident of Frazier Street in Philadelphia at the time of his death.
The investigation into Boston's murder remains ongoing, and as of now, it is an unsolved case. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact the Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit. A reward has been offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
