An argument in a parking lot on a Tuesday evening tragically escalated, leaving one man dead and another facing a homicide charge. The incident unfolded at approximately 6:25 p.m. on February 23, 2021, at the Swiftwater Luxury Apartments located on Route 611 in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania. It was there that 38-year-old Prince X. Brown of Tobyhanna was shot twice following a dispute.
Responding to the scene, Pocono Township Police, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, discovered Brown with gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to St. Luke's Monroe Campus in Bartonsville in an effort to save his life. Despite the medical attention he received, Brown was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The subsequent investigation into the shooting quickly identified a suspect. Police determined that an argument between Brown and another man, 49-year-old Jamaine Wilkins, also from Tobyhanna, had preceded the fatal shooting. The disagreement intensified to the point where Wilkins allegedly shot Brown.
Following the investigation, Jamaine Wilkins was taken into custody by law enforcement. He was officially charged with homicide in connection with the death of Prince X. Brown. After his arrest, Wilkins was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility to await his arraignment on the charges.
