On the evening of April 23, 2021, 51-year-old William G. Lee Sr., an African American male, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head outside Tim's Bar on Wylie Avenue in Pittsburgh's Hill District. Pittsburgh police and medics responded to a ShotSpotter alert and multiple 911 calls reporting the incident around 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Lee in critical condition. He was immediately transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
