On December 22, 2010, two men of Hispanic/Latino descent were fatally shot in a double homicide incident in the Southwest Detroit area. Moises Ramos-Esteban, who was 24 years old, and Eduardo Romero-Chavez, aged 34, were at a residence on Kulick Street when the violence occurred. The location has been identified in various reports as being in the 5600 block of Kulick, specifically listed as either 5633 or 5641 Kulick Street.
According to case files involving the second victim, the incident unfolded in the evening hours while the men were standing in the driveway of the residence. A white sport utility vehicle reportedly slowed down as it approached the property. An unknown subject from within the vehicle then opened fire on the men. Both Moises Ramos-Esteban and Eduardo Romero-Chavez sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the attack and died as a result of their injuries.
Following their deaths, the bodies of both men were repatriated to their home country of Guatemala. Records from the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicate that the families of both victims received economic assistance to transport their remains back to the municipality of Tajumulco in the department of San Marcos for burial.
Despite the specific details regarding the vehicle involved, the investigation into the murders has not yielded any arrests.
