David A. Hines, a 38-year-old man from New Castle, was found dead in his SUV on East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, on May 17, 2021. The vehicle was discovered down an embankment near the entrance of a mining facility. Hines had suffered an apparent gunshot wound, and the incident was quickly classified as a homicide.
