On a summer evening in Chester, Pennsylvania, the life of 28-year-old Najee Marquee Cain was tragically cut short. On Monday, July 12, 2021, police were called to the Benjamin Banneker Plaza apartment building on West 7th Street, where they found Cain in the lobby, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. The call came in around 9:10 p.m., a time when the city was settling into the rhythms of a weeknight.
