The discovery was made by Connellsville police officers who had been dispatched to conduct a welfare check on her. Upon arrival, a 33-year-old man named Luke David Stash, also from Connellsville, permitted the officers to enter the home. It was then that they found Angela's body in the basement.
As the officers attempted to detain Luke Stash, a physical altercation ensued. During the struggle, Stash brandished a pistol and fired at the officers.
